The HCP Boys Tennis team traveled a short distance Wednesday (9/23/20) afternoon to take on host Portage Northern. An exciting day of good high school tennis with the Irish escaping with a 5-3 win over the Division 2 - 9th ranked Huskies. It all came down to the wire with two well-played matches at #3 & #4 Doubles. The Irish #3 Doubles team of Jack Gordon & Marcus Alcaraz put in a great effort coming up just short in a 6-2, 3-6, 6-7(4) nail biter, and the #4 Doubles team of Toby Alcaraz & David Chafty earned a nice win 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 playing an impressive 3rd set, which ended up being the decisive 5th team win. Fantastic effort today by all the boys in beating a solid team!  Complete match/flight results:
